Lost Dutchman

Lost Dutchman State Park is a 320-acre (129 ha) state park located near the Superstition Mountains in central Arizona, USA, and named after the Lost Dutchman's Gold Mine, a famous gold mine legendary among the tales of the Old West. It is easily accessible about 40 miles east of Phoenix via U.S. Highway 60, the Superstition Freeway.

I had originally planned on going to the ghost town that is near this area. Once we had arrived the tourist trap that is the ghost town was very unappealing, so after a short time was back in the Jeep and heading down the road.

Luckily just down the road was the Lost Dutchman state park, this offered a wonderful hike with a view of the superstition mountains.

One of the more interesting thing in the mark was some of the older cactus that had their bark (Not sure what it truly called) off because of woodpeckers, bugs, and animals. Seeing the way the ribs go up the internal structure was actually  nice to see.

Hope everyone likes the pictures.
