Agate Bridge

While in the petrified forest one of places I was able to stop was the Agate Bridge. Millions of years ago a tree simply fell across a creek, something we all have seen plenty of times I am sure.

So this bridge was buried in sediment and slowly over millions of years turned to beautiful stone. Giving us the agate bridge we have today.

I was lucky enough to be able to spend time in the petrified forest so I was able to make all the stops like this one to see the beauty it beholds.

As you can see in the pictures there is a giant cement block that is supporting the tree, this was a effort long ago to preserve the bridge from falling. While it has lasted this long time wand water will eventually takes its toll and the tree will collapse in to the creak bed.

I hope everyone likes the pictures.
